Electricians don't get to pick their surfaces. One day it's concrete slab, next day it's gravel, next day you're on your feet in a tight crawl space for six hours. The common factor is that by mid-afternoon, my feet are done. I wanted to know specifically whether that changed with CloudSole in my boots, and if so, how much.
Day 3 I made it to 4:30 without watching the clock. That hadn't happened in years. By the end of week one I was regularly finishing jobs without my feet being the thing I was thinking about on the drive home. Not zero discomfort — I'm not going to oversell it — but the mid-afternoon wall moved and then kept moving. Week three it was more of a late nudge than a wall.
The four-layer foam construction is what's doing it. Standard boot insoles are single-slab foam that compress flat within weeks. The CloudSole layers have different densities — you can feel the difference when you press them — which means each step gets absorbed across multiple levels instead of going straight through to your joints.

I'll be honest — this was the claim I almost didn't test because it felt like the most marketing-y one. Insoles adding real height sounds like something from a late-night infomercial. But I measured it properly. Standing against the wall in my work boots without insoles, marked the height. Same boots with CloudSole in. Same time of day.
1.3 inches. Right in the middle of the claimed 1–2 inch range. The lift comes from two places at once: the graduated heel elevation built into the insole, and the postural correction that happens when your arch is properly supported. When your arch sits in the right position, your whole skeletal chain realigns — ankle, knee, hip — and you stand measurably taller as a result.
Nobody on the floor noticed my boots looked different because they don't. Same sole height, same boot. You just stand taller and nobody knows why. I didn't expect to care about this as much as I ended up caring about it.

I know from 11 years of buying work boot insoles that they all feel decent on day one. The real test is week three and week four when cheap foam has gone flat and you're standing on what's basically cardboard.
